| A shot of the main dam of Aberdeen Reservoir. Lower Aberdeen Reservoir was built in 1890 and was originally owned by the Tai Shing Paper Factory. Eventually, the government bought the lower reservoir and expanded its capacity from 201,000 cubic metres to 410,000 cubic metres. At the same time it also built Aberdeen Upper Reservoir (capacity 800,000 cubic metres). The reservoirs were officially opened in 1931. |
